Leica Virtual Explorer gives users the ability to convert the earth into a clear and spatially accurate, unparalleled digital reality. Terabytes of spatial information are seamlessly merged into a highly informative digital earth and distributed to colleagues next door or thousands of users worldwide without preprocessing. Using a planetary viewing environment, users everywhere can independently explore and analyze 3D terrain with a broad array of GIS and analysis tools. Users can also choose to collaborate in their exploration by sharing chat, views, scene markups and custom GIS layers with other users.
Regardless of experience or need, the Leica Virtual Explorer suite offers 3D visualization capabilities integrated with spatial and attribute-based querying, editing tools, geocoding and state-of-the-art dissemination capabilities. 

Customization
With the release of Leica Virtual Explorer 3.1, the components of the suite are open to varying levels of customization whether it be simply localizing the user interfaces to a new language, embedding the Leica Virtual Explorer viewer into other applications with ActiveX controls or developing new applications, tools and GUI's.

• Leica Virtual Explorer Architect:
  Construct and explore realistic 3D scene interpretations from imagery, GIS layers, terrain and other geospatial data and location-based content. This module is required for constructing scenes.
• Leica Virtual Explorer Enterprise:
  Provides unlimited serving of scenes and/or tiles created in LVE Architect. Serving scenarios can be enterprise server collaborative capability, web server, or a combination of both.
• Leica Virtual Explorer Client: 
  A freely distributable application enabling the remote exploration of 3D environments using essential terrain visualization and analysis tools.
• Leica Virtual Explorer Pro Client:
  Enables the remote exploration of 3D environments using a full array of terrain visualization and analysis tools while allowing the local addition of geospatial data.
• Leica Virtual Explorer DVD
  An add-on module for LVE Architect; converts rich 3D scenes into a format optimized for CD, DVD or other file-based distribution media.
• Leica Virtual Explorer NITF
  Enables users to add accessible data stored in the National Imagery Transmission Format to LVE scenes natively without file conversion.
